Garden Finishes Off Big Week

    The Garden City Community College Baseball team had a big week of games over their spring break. On Tuesday the club traveled to Hays, KS to take on the Ft. Hays State JV team. Garden came away with a 7-2 victory. Six Garden pitchers saw action on the mound, while sophomore Blake Brisson (Omaha, NE) hit his first homerun of the season. On Thursday the McCook Community College Indians traveled to Williams Stadium for another non-league tilt. Freshman Desmond Roberts (Bellevue, NE) received his first start of the season going six strong innings in the 9-5 win.

    This weekend Garden hosted the Southeast Nebraska College Storm in a four game set. The Busters swept the series behind strong hitting and pitching performances all four games. The four Garden City starters were credited with wins, while the hitters banged out forty-eight runs on sixty hits over the weekend.

    The Busters will pick up this next week’s action tomorrow as they host the Otero Junior College Rattlers in another non-league contest before jumping back into conference play against Hutchinson Community College at home this weekend. First pitch tomorrow is scheduled for 3:00pm.
