Busters Take Down Clarendon

    The Garden City Baseball team traveled to Clarendon, TX on Monday to play a single non-conference game against the Clarendon College Bulldogs. The Busters got off to a great start scoring three runs in each of the first two innings to take a 6-0 lead. Garden received a quality start from Anthony Mastroni (Thornton, CO) in his college debut going six strong innings and giving up only 2 runs. The Bulldogs scored three runs, two of them unearned, in the bottom of the seventh to pull within 7-5. Garden scratched two more runs in the top of the 9th on a two out knock by Sam Thornton (Canberra, ACT). Alex Kelly (Fort Collins, CO) led the Busters with three hits. Tyler Rogers (Littleton, CO) came on to record the final two outs of the eighth inning and pitched a scoreless ninth inning, recording his third save of the season.

    Due to 45mph forcasted winds in the Lamar, CO area for Thursday, the Busters game against the Lopes has been moved to tomorrow, February 16th in Lamar. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm MST.
