The Garden City Community College baseball team split their series this past weekend with the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen from Sterling, CO. The Busters took the opening game of each day before loosing the rubber match of the doubleheaders. Game one saw Garden score seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on their way to a 10-7 victory. Game two wasn't much of a contest as Northeastern jumped out to a 10-0 lead after three innings and went onto to the easy victory.

Sunday was much of the same as the Busters took game one 5-2. Freshmen Luke Flanagan (Centennial, CO) and Dakota Kell (Denver, CO) paced the Busters with two hits apiece. Anthony Mastroni (Thornton, CO) turned in his second bigtime start of the week, scattering four hits and striking out six in five innings of work. Garden jumped out to an early lead in game four but couldn't maintain their momentum as Northeastern went on to win the game 13-3.

The Busters will be back in action this Wednesday at Williams Stadium as they take on the Runnin' Lopes of Lamar Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm CST.
